See percent means out of 100

Suppose you score 89 marks out a test of 100 marks, we say you have got 89/100 i.e. 89%

So when you have a situation that u hv scored 19 out of a test of 25, you have scored 19/25

BUT for percentage you hv to find how much you have scored out of 100

So, we make the denominator 100 as follows:

19        4               76 
--    x  ---    =     ----
25         4              100

Therefore 19/25 is 76%

Yes, here i multiplied by 4/4 because 25 x 4 gives me a 100 in the denominator

In case it cannot be made/converted to 100, as say in 22/32,
then just multiply the fraction by 100 and put a % sign after the resulting number
