This is like scientific notation.. You are multiplying the whole parts together and then the parts that have 5 as a base together. The whole parts are 1.5 and 2.2 hence (1.5*2.2) The base parts are 5^4 and 5^-6 hence (5^4 * 5^-6) 1.5 * 2.2 = 3.3 5^4 * 5^-6 = 5^-2 (you add exponents when the bases are the same) 5^-2 = 1 -- 25 so you have 3.3 --- 25
