whats -3^2...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if it's (-3)^2=9 if it's -(3)^2=-9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its from a problem using the quadratic formula, its suppose to be 3±√-3^2-4(1*1) so it turns into 3±√-3^2-4, in that instance, what is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

+9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm kk thanks. so the answer for the Quadratic formula could be written as x = -3+√5 ----- 2 x = -3 -√5 ------ 2 correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{x^2}=+x\] s0 \[\sqrt{-3^2}=3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

should i repost the whole question so see complete answer? and how i did it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well here it is: __________ x²+3x+1=> Quadratic formula => -3±√3²-4(1*1) -------------- 2
