A circle is defined by the following equation: 3x^(2)+3y^(2)-30x+27=0 What are the coordinates of its center?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15,0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh sorry 5,0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah its 5,0 the eqn of a circle is x^2 + y^2 +2gx + 2fy +c=0 then the circle lies at (-g.-f)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so u first divide this eqn by 3 to get it in the above form, and then see -10 =2g g=-5 so centre is 5,0
