How do you solve probability questions? I'm so confused.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

whats the questions? since ther eis not just one single probablity question, there isnt one single solution to your query

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Probability is quite simple once you understand it

OpenStudy (amistre64):

lol... most things are quite simple once you understand them ;)

A spinner has 4 equal sectors colored yellow, blue, green and red. After spinning the spinner, what is the probability of landing on each color?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

K but probability is just fractions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is 1/4

OpenStudy (amistre64):

four possible outcomes all of equal chance to land on; 1 in 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why is it 1/4 though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As there are four colours, the chance of landing on a particular colour would be 1/4 or 0.25

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you cant land on multiple colors can you? you can only land on one out of the four 1 out of 4 1:4 1/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhhhh.....it makes sense now, thanks. :) I just have to practice more.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

practice does help :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha for sure. thanks again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If all options are equally likely, the answer is usually 1/the number of possible options

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yeah. hmmm. thanks.
