i have a question about transformations can anyone help????
If you ask, we may answer. If you don't ask, we will definitely not answer. ;)
ok here is the problem : the vertices of triangle JKL are J ( 1,-1) K(3,-2) L (1,-3) draw the triangle and its image after reflection in the y-axis what are the coordinatse of the vertices of triangle JKL???
polpok
To reflect about the y axis you just change the x values.
what??
i dont get it
Change the signs of the x values I mean.
Emo, if you want to talk, use chat or post a question.
so like flip it upward into the positive space on a graph???
if it is in negative x, move it to the positive x, (and vice versa).
so like if it is in the bottom right corner of the graph, move it to the top right???
No, that would be changing the y value. You want to swap from right to left and vice versa but not swap top/bottom.
so from bottom right to bottom left??
yes
ok THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH polpak
The y axis divides the right and left sides. Reflecting across that axis will switch the x values from one side to the other (left/right). Reflecting across the x axis will instead switch the y values from top to bottom and vice versa.
thank you so much
