You are in charge of desiging a can(cylinder) for your company's new product. The sales department has told you that the volume of each cylinder will be 12 fl oz, which is the same as 24.5 cm cubed. The radius is 1.12, how tall can it be. Show work please<33

Volume of a cylinder: pi*r^2*h=24.5 You are given r pi*(1.12)^2*h=24.5 Solve for h

the cylinder, i guess

So what you're saying is that it can be 24.5cm tall?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No i'm saying that the volume is 24.5cm^2. The volume of a cylinder is pi*r^2*h. So i make these two things equal. Since they give r, the radius, you can plug it in and the only unknown left is h, which you can solve.

Oh! okay thank you SOOOO much<3
