Volume of the attached figure? help would be much appreciated!!!<3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(volume of rectangular prism) - (Volume of the cylinder) volume of rectangular prim = (Length)*(Width)*(Height) Volume of the cylinder = (pi)r^2*(height) can yu solve from here? (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i thinks so:) i got 90pi for the volume of the cylinder and then 480 for the volume of the rect. prism. after subtraction i got 197.2566612, is that rite?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh and can you please look at my other question-it starts with like triangular prism and rectangular prism. you don't have to it would just be helpful:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 253.805 hehe the rectangular volume is right but i think you used the wrong height on the cylinder, look at the dimensions again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so i noticed for some reasone I was putting in 10 as the height instead of 6 idk why but then when I entered in 6 I got 310.3539967

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope. that's not the height either hehe. The height is the measurement from the bottom circular base to the top circular base so, if you notice the cylinder is sideways which make the height = w = 8. got it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OH haha i guess its just getting late over here lol i got it now thanks so much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha np!
