i need a little help on this one plz..... (8x(squared)+x-1)+(-2x(cubed)+3x-15)...... i couldn't figure out how to put the exponent up there so i just put squared and cubed..... if that makes sense<3

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

\[(8x ^{2}+x-1) + (-2x ^{3}+3x-15)\] adding like terms ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that's the equation

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

well there is only one x^3 term so leave it alone there is only one x^2 term so leave it alone there are 2 x terms-> x + 3x x+3x = 4x, because 1+3=4 there are 2 constants --> -1+ -15 -1 + (-15) = -16 = \[-2x ^{3}+8x ^{2}+4x -16\]

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

do you need to factor this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhhhhh..... i get it now thanx a SUPER lot!
