can anyone explain limits for me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/a has a value unless a is 0. so as the value of a approaches 0, the value of 1/a approaches infinity. so lim a-->0, f(a)--->infinity

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this means as a approaches the limit 0, f(a) turns out to be approaching infinity. 0 is the limit at which the function loses its meaning.
