If f(x) = 3xsquared - x + 2 (Sorry I don't know how to make the squared number) Then what is 2f(a) please show work

OpenStudy (yuki):

\[f(x) = 3x^2 -x +2\] in order to find 2f(a) the only thing you have to do is literally substitute x with a, and then multiply 2 later

OpenStudy (yuki):

so \[f(a) = 3a^2 -a +2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.332

OpenStudy (yuki):

and \[2f(a) = 2(3a^2-a+2)\] so \[2f(a) = 6a^2-2a+4\]

OpenStudy (yuki):

and if you want to indicate that a number is taken to the nth power you put a^n which is\[a^n\]

OpenStudy (yuki):

it's the same as a calculator :P

ok thanks much!
