I assume you mean 3x^2 - 4x = 4. Bring the 4 to the LHS and you have a normal quadratic equation 3x^2 - 4x - 4 = 0. Do you remeber how to factorise quadratics? If not, have a look at http://www.graspr.com/videos/AS-A-Level-Maths-No-3-Factorise-from-www-mathstutor-biz
