Test Review Question: Solve for x: 3x - 2 > 5x + 10

x=-6

would it be x<-6 ?

Be careful with inequalities. First, bring the x values on to the LHS and the numbers to the RHS, thus: 3x - 5x > 10+2, so -2x > 12, or -x >6. Do you remeber to change the direction of the inequality if multiplying through by a negative number? So, finally we have x < 6.
