see the attached figure where green line length=\[8\sqrt{2}\] so every lateral side length=16.49 (using pythagoras theorem); area of each side triangle \[b(\sqrt{4a ^{2}-b ^{2}})/4\]where a is the length of each equal side and b is the length of other side. here a=16.49, b=16 so we get tr. area=115.36 cm^2 for 4 such triangle....area 461.42 cm^2. and the base area 16^2=256. total area=717.42 sq cm.
