There's no correct answer. You'd have to look at things like how well the white cloth insulates against how opaque it was... As feczo point out, this isn't really the best place for this post. You might want to try the Physics Group.

I think we're talking about a ordinary, glass jar, not a programming abstraction, just a regular, glass jar.

Even though black paper absorbs more heat, it also radiates more. If I'm not mistaken that's why they wear black in deserts as well as white. Black clad person was supposed to be slightly cooler under the hood than a white clad person.
