In a triangle, find the measure of angle O if angle N = 90 degrees, side MN = 20 cm and side ON= 32 cm. answer to nearest whole degree

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if i have labeled the triangle correctly, you should see that tangent of angle 0 is 20/32 therefore \[O=tan^{-1}(\frac{20}{32})=32\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah thats what i got

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its approximately 32 degrees?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that is what i got. it is the angle whose tangent is 20/32 if i labeled correctly, so it is the inverse tangent of 20/32 which my calculator told me was 32 degrees.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok got it.
