If we toss a coin 100 times, then we expect that Heads will appear 50 times. A) True B) False Im confused on the word "expect" are they asking what is most likely? >.< Im confused on what they are asking :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh and another one. they are playing on words and its confusing mee!!! There are 6 numbers on a normal die. What is the probability that if you roll the die, you'll get the number 100? A. 0 B. 1/4 C. 1/6 D. 1/100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its true coz of 50% probability...probability is what u EXPECT,,,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true for the first one because the chances are 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ahhh alrighty! :) thats what i was thinking just wanted to clarify :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

about ur 2nd question.....what 6 numbers are on that die? if we have 1 2 3 4 5 6...then u cant get 100 anyway...so its zero...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats my point it doesnt tell u >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have a funny teacher?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u have option A as 0...so go with it,,,, @fadai nice questn mate:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol nope >.< i am doing online schooling thats why i was so confused its like a trick question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm def go with 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alrighty :) thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You guys wanna help me with 2 more? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okie dokie first one is... We toss two dice 1,000 times. How many times do we expect to have the sum of the two dice equal to 4? A. about 250 B. about 167 C. about 83 D. about 42

OpenStudy (anonymous):

about 83,,,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

agreed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm alright how did u get that answer? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look we have 6*6 total combinations... now u have only 3 possible combinations which can give u a sum of 4,....they are...(1,3),(2,2),(3,1)...so it is 3/36...which makes 1/12....multiply it with thousand and u have ur answer...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and 2,2 again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nop...(2,2) makes 1 combination...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yeah your right :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha i just got 100% on my assignment!! :D lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
