How long is the diagonal of a 12 mm-by-16 mm face of a rectangular prism?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use Pythagoras' theorem

OpenStudy (amistre64):

dhat beat me to it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ahaha :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So does that mean it would be 800?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D um, no

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sqrt(12^2 + 16^2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But 12 to the second power is 144

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you forgot to take the sqrt.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And when add to 16 to the second power i get 256

OpenStudy (amistre64):

144 256 ---- 400 sqrt(400) = 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then I add it and get 400

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And I square root it to get 800?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

800*800 = 400???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no no.. sorry. it is the sqrt of 400

OpenStudy (anonymous):

type in sqrt(400) in google and press enter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh my bad! I multiplied it again by 400. I was thinking of exponents aha but thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are welcome.
