A landscaper attaches a guy wire 10 ft up thr trunk of a newly planted sapling. He stakes the wire between 20 and 25 feet from the tree. What could be the length of the guy wire if it forms a right triangle with the tree?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10 feet up the side...so that's one leg of the triangle 20 - 25 feet away...so that's the other leg the minimum is sqrt(100+400) = 22.36 the maximum is sqrt(100+625) = 26.93 so somewhere between those two...maybe 25 feet

Okay
