I keep getting a fraction
OpenStudy (amistre64):
wx = yz
5x+3 = 13x -1
4 = 8x
x = 2
OpenStudy (amistre64):
trapeziod doesnt imply equality of sides ....missed that one lol

thank you

Fractions complicate things! LOL
OpenStudy (amistre64):
:) a picture would be good

it looks like a trapezoid sitting on top of another trapezoid..
getting smaller to the top (shorter lines)

I think:
[( 5x + 3)+(13-1)]/2=6x+7?

I redid it... yes x = 2 i divided the 2 instead of multiplied it to cancel it out!! Awesome thank you both!! You both came up with the same answer!!!

(18x+2)/2=6x+7
9x+1=6x+7
9x -6x=7-1
3x = 6
x =6/3
x =2
