A rational number is a number which can be written in the form (p/q) for coprime integers p, q. C is obvious. A is (sort of) obvious. D - do you know/remember how to convert recurring decimals into fractions? B is an interesting one, and why I take issue with this question. It's clearly the one you are 'meant' to pick, but there is no evidence it is not rational; some rational numbers take FAR longer than that to start repeating. I'd have picked something for which this property can be proved, i.e. sqrt(2), pi, e...
