Can someone please explain the process of reducing? I know the basics but like: 60/20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you find something that they both can be divided by easily in this case I would use 10 60 6 3 --- = ---= --- 20 2 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or u can start out by taking out a 20 fro numerator and denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

60?10=6 20?10=2 6/2 can also be reduced 6/2=3 2/2=1 3 ---=3 1

What about 15/60 the teacher was explaining a geometry problem and he reduced 15/60. How did he find what number went into 15 and 60?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can take out a 15. 15 / 15 1 ___ = ---- 60 /15 4
