square root of 16x^6...seems simple, but do i have to work it all out or is there a trick with the exponents?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is a trick. The nth root is the same as raising to the power of 1/n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt[a]b = (b)^\frac{1}{a}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 16x^3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, you have to apply the power to the 16 as well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 4x^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

indeed.

thanks
