I can't seem to solve for y in the following equation. I can get the answer from wolfram alpha, but I want to see the steps. Can somebody provide a step by step to solve for y? Thanks! x^2 + y^2 = cy

Use the quadratic equation, with A = 1, B = c, and C = -x^2

\[(-c \pm \sqrt{c^2+4x^2})/2\]

My daughter and I are working through it now... thanks for the helpful hint!
