how do i solve this inequality if it looks like y > x

OpenStudy (amistre64):

whatever you put in for x; make sure y is bigger.... its an area of a graph with a boundary at the y=x line

OpenStudy (amistre64):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all value of y should olwaYs be greater than the value of x. thyen it is true.!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for you to be easy. all positve integer(y) > all negative integer(x) not equal to Zero.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i solve a system with a x^2 like heres the equation \[y \ge x^{2}-1\]

OpenStudy (amistre64):

graph the line y = x^2-1 pick a point NOT ON THE LINE and test to see if it makes the inequaltiy true of false. if true; shade that side, if false shade the other side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ., are you familiar with the cartecian plane?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can graph that one ., through the cartecian plane.,, by substituting the corresponding of value of (x).

OpenStudy (amistre64):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think you will come up that one into a parabola.,. f i'm not mistaken.
