4x2 - 8x + 5y2 + 30y - 41 = 0 A) The graph is the point (-1, 3). B) The graph is an ellipse with center (1, -3). C) The graph is a circle with center (1, -3). D) The equation has no graph.

myininaya (myininaya):

it is definitely not a circle since we have the coefficients of x^2 and y^2 do not equal it is likely to be an ellipse since the sign of x^2 is the same as the sign of y^2, but there could also be no graph now we are required to do more thinking

myininaya (myininaya):

i will eat and if someone else hasnt answer i will look at is some more k?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx

myininaya (myininaya):

hey try to write it like this [(x-1)^2]/5+[(y+3)^2]/4=9/2 this an ellsipse since the RHS is not negative

myininaya (myininaya):

the center is (1,-3)

myininaya (myininaya):

also if the RHS was zero after writing it in that form this would the graph of the point (1,-3)
