trying to help my son, help on this: The distance a car travels is equal to the average speed times how long the car has traveled. Which equation should be used to find the speed ® of a car that averages traveling 100 miles in 1 ½ hours?
distance = speed / time speed = distance x time speed = 100 miles x 1.5 hours speed = 100 x ( 1.5 x 60 ) mins speed = 100 x (1.5 x 60 x 60 ) seconds = 540000 :)
ok so the expression would be r=(100)(1 1/2)
yes :)
oh, i thought it wud be r=100/1 1/2
no because the Distance equation is Speed / time .. and they want to know what is the speed so, speed is Distance times time.. hmm i think this is correct
ok ok i see now, never been good at word problems i always have misread them
can u help with another?
hhh same here .. but please check it if its correct or not .. cuz am not that much sure .. and yeah sure .. wts the problem ?
ok, i think ur right cause in begining it says car travels is equal to the average speed time how long the car has traveled so i guess u wud be right
