what is the simplest form of 4 1/3, how do you get to the answer? Thanks.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

it is the simplest.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you want to get an improper fraction, then you multiply the 4 by the three, and add the one. You can do that with any mixed fraction. Just multiply the bottom by the big number, and then add the top to the product

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Yeah! crrct.

Some math teachers want 13/3 why, I don't know but there it is. 4 x 3 +1 over the original denominator.
