how do we sketch graphs in calculus- limits especially?

I know that, but how? like without the values how do we really know the quadrant? and whether it is a straight, curve, or a hyperbola?

Find intercept, criticle, inflection point,look for retricemptotes and find easy to plot points
well, usually you look for the critical values of the expression for your limit as it approaches different values, such as the denominator going to zero (in which an asymptote is needed) and then you determine whether it goes to + or - infinite by testing as values get closer and closer to the value that makes the expression undefined. there are more details but your book should give you a more detailed approach to a problem like this
