does anything change in a sequence when the 'r' value is negative

OpenStudy (amistre64):

THE R VALUE APPARENTLY LOL

OpenStudy (amistre64):

caps stuck lol

OpenStudy (amistre64):

can you be more descriptive of the problem ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

like; what is r?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, what I am saying is.... I am solving a geometric sequence. In the geometric sequence, the "difference" that you find in an arithmetic sequence is r. It's what you multiply/divide everything by. So, if the number that you multiply/divide everything by, is negative, will it change anything about the sequence (like the numbers in the sequence getting bigger or smaller or alternating from positive to negative)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In a geometric progression , the sign's will oscillate. t1,-t2,t3,-t4 .... nth term's sign will be (-1)^n+1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey akanksha..the sum will change 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

come on chat..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in where ? facebook or group chat ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

facebook wld be better wont it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wtevr u want

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where are you?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i geometric series has a rationthat it is multiplied by to get the next number in a sequence; if r is negative; then the sequence jumps back and forth between (+) and (-) signs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

have u added me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait , give me 2 mins.
