sorry this is long.... A rectangular secure enclosure is to be built using 250 feet of fencing material. The enclosure will be built next to a building so that only three sides need to be fenced. a.) find an equation that models the area A of the enclosure as a function of x, the length of one of the sides is perpendicular to the building. b.) determine x so that the enclosure has an area of 7000 ft^2

Start by writing the equation for the perimeter. The solve for one of the variables (length or width) in terms of the other and the total perimeter (250 ft). Then write an equation for the Area in terms of the other variable only and set it equal to 7000. Then solve.
