Which equation represents the line that has the slope of 1/2 and contains the point (0,3)? a)y=1/3x+1/2 b)y=3x+1/2 c)y=3/2x d)y=1/2x+3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = mx+b is the slope intercept form of the equation of a straight line where m is the slope of the line.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its either a, c or d?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you determine that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because my math teacher told me that in y=mx+b, m is the slope and b is the y intercept, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right. so if the slope is 1/2, then what would be the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh its d right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. good.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OHHHH SNAP! I FEEL SMART!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup. everyone needs to think things through in math. its simple :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks! but i have a LOT more questions liek this! think you could help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I could, but I think you can apply your knowledge and think through the problems before posting them here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true.....alright! ILL do the problems myself and if i think i have the right answer, ill tell you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay great! I'd be more than happy to check your problems for you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks! but you have to stay here or SOMEONE'SSS not getting any medals :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dunno if I can stay. but I'll try to help you when I can.

OpenStudy (anonymous):
