For the Transformation T, write the T-1.T : (x, y) (2x, y + 5) ;T -1 (x, y)----> (_____ x, ______y) NOTE: T-1 is the inverse of T1... help please.

OpenStudy (watchmath):

\(T^{-1}\) is the map that sends \((2x,y+5)\) to \((x,y)\). Then \(T^{-1}(x,y)=((1/2)x, -5+y)\)

Thank you... How did u get that though?

OpenStudy (watchmath):

Think how to get \(x\) from \(2x\). We can divide by 2! How to get \(y\) from \(y+5\)? We can subtract \\(5\ All this operation still gives us linear function. So that will do the job.

okay. thanks again....
