this math stuff is going to be the death of me! multiply and simplify: 6a^8/5v^2 times 25v^4/36a So far I have 150a^8v^4/180v^2a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not this.... let's try:\[6a ^{8} * 25v ^{4}\div5v ^{2}*36a\] do you see what could be canceled out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[a ^{7}v ^{2}*5/6\]

OpenStudy (gw2011):

The easiest way of solving this problem is to simplify it by using cancellation. 6a^8 and 36a can be cancelled as a^7 and 6 25v^4 and 5v^2 can be cancelled as 5v^2 and 1 Now the problem looks like this: (a^7)(5v^2/6)=5a^7v^2/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I kinda understand how you got a^7 v^2 but I do not understand the rest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok I get it now, took me a minute though LOL. Thank you both!

You're welcome
