Find the range of this function??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Real numbers that are Greater than or equal to -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wouldnt it be -3?

OpenStudy (watchmath):

Is your function \(f(x)=(x-1)^2-3\) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh it's greater than or equal to -2 My bad

OpenStudy (watchmath):

Notice that the expression \((x-1)^2\) is always greater than or equal to zero. Hence \((x-1)^2-3\) always greater than or equal to -3. \(f(x)\geq -3\)

OpenStudy (watchmath):

So the range is the interval \([-3,\infty)\)
