Write an equation for the line with the given attributes. Write your answer in slope-intercept form if possible: Horizontal and passing through the point (-3,8)

OpenStudy (watchmath):

Since the line is horizontal then the slope is \(m=0\). Then the line is of the form \(y=0x+b\), i.e., \(y=b\).Since the line passes through \(-3,8\), then \(y=8\) is the line that we are looking for.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure how to write that out into an equation....

OpenStudy (watchmath):

Well it says that write in the slope intercept form if it is possible. In this case we can't write it as \(y=mx+b\) the slope \(m=0\). So in our equation there is no \(x\) variable and the equation of the line is just. \(y=8\)
