Say, there are an x amount of boys. Then:
7x=5y

When the girl joins, it's:
3x=2(y+1)
1.5x=y+1
1.5x-1=y

7x=5*(1.5x-1)
7x=7.5x-5
-0.5x=-5
x=10

y=7*10/5=14
14+1=15

There are 10 boys and 15 girls.
