hope you guys can see the graph
OpenStudy (anonymous):
hello a = -1?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
b = 2?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
c = 2?
OpenStudy (watchmath):
b=-1

hmm why?
OpenStudy (watchmath):
when you tracing your graph as your x moves approaching -3 from the right, the y-value of your graph is getting closer and closer to which number?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the full dot on top is confusing me
OpenStudy (anonymous):
otherwise i would write -1
OpenStudy (watchmath):
yes, the value of the limit doesn't depends whether if you have a hole or of full circle.

are c and d = 2? then
OpenStudy (watchmath):
since the limit from the left and right to -3 is -1. Then we say the limit as x approaches -3 is -2.
If the limit from the left doesn't agree with the limit from the right then the limit (without left or right) does not exist.
OpenStudy (watchmath):
The full cirlce only concern about the value of the function it self.
So in this case you were right, f(-3)=2.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
but c = DNE
OpenStudy (anonymous):
or do they agree?

OpenStudy (watchmath):
No, c) is -1 because a) and b) agree and equal to -1.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
cool
OpenStudy (anonymous):
e = -inf or DNE
OpenStudy (anonymous):
f = +inf pr dne
OpenStudy (anonymous):
g = DNE

h = Dne?
OpenStudy (watchmath):
That's right. If you are allow to choose -inf and +inf that is the better answer for e and f.
OpenStudy (watchmath):
g is correct
OpenStudy (anonymous):
what about f?
OpenStudy (watchmath):
h is correct too.

i meant h
OpenStudy (watchmath):
if you can choose +inf choose +inf
OpenStudy (anonymous):
apologize

i = 1

good!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
q= - inf or dne, r = -inf or dne s = DNE, t = DNE
OpenStudy (watchmath):
s=-inf too
OpenStudy (anonymous):
right as u said earlier
OpenStudy (anonymous):
hold on posting another but different
