OpenStudy (mathwizz):

how do u do 24=x+2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You would first put 24 on the other side so that you get x = -24 + 2 ^ -22 so x = -22

OpenStudy (mathwizz):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you get it now? (:

OpenStudy (mathwizz):

yes i get x=-22

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait.. That's not right. The original equation was 24 = x + 2 So to get x by itself you just subtract 2 from both sides of the equation \[24 -2 = x + 2 - 2 \implies x = 22\] Not -22.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah 22 is correct answer.
