if the surface area of a sphere is 1256cm^2 if the diameter of the sphere is decreased by 5cm what is the surface area of the new sphere????? using pie=3.14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what was the original diameter?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

doesnt give one :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The original radius was 10 cm, calculated from A=4 times pi times r squared. r squared is 100. If you reduce the radius to half, you'll reduce the surface area to one quarter.

oh my goodness thanks so much :D
