How long will it take to discharge a 10μF capacitor from 10V to zero if the current through the capacitor is constant and equal to 2A ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i=C dv/dt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[dv = \frac{i dt}{C}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

integrate both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[v= \frac{i t }{C} +B \] where B is a constant

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when t=0 , v=10 , therefore B =10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so \[v(t) = \frac{ i t}{C} +10\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now rearrange for t
