5 > 3  ; multiply both sides by -1

-5 > -3 is false; so we flip the symbol to account for it

i mean that they dont tell you this little fact when you do equations because its redundant..... but whenever you have to multiply the variable by a negative number; ALWAYS flip your sign around..

Alternatively you can just swap the left and right sides by adding..
-2y           <             10
+2y - 10       + 2y - 10
==============
 -10 < 2y

Then do the division normally.
