Which one of the following is the correct sentence formed: - Wasn't these two years a roller coaster ride? - Weren't these two years a roller coaster ride?

OpenStudy (angela210793):

the 2nd 1 i guess...years is plural...so must be the verb....

OpenStudy (rainbow):

If you answered the question, you would find the subject-verb agreement that is correct. These two years WERE a roller coaster ride. This past year WAS a roller coaster ride.

2nd one because the first one would be "Was not these years a roller coaster ride?" and the second one would be "Were not these years a roll"

Well, thank you so much, everyone.
