its a right triangle so we have a^2+b^2=c^2
c=4x
b=2x
a=?
a^2=c^2-b^2
a=sqrt{c^2-b^2}
a=sqrt{(4x)^2-(2x)^2}
a=sqrt{16x^2-4x^2}
a=sqrt{4x^2}sqrt{4-1}
a=2xsqrt{3}

i guess it helps when u work it out
