what is the equation of a vertical asymptote for function f(x) = 4/x+5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its x = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, how would you explain x=0 and what about x =5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=0 corresponds to the y-axis. when x=0 there is no value of f(x) - the graph comes close to the y axis but never touches it. iTis is a break in the graph. When x=5 f(x) has the value 5.8 and (5,5.8) is a point on it.
