x -3 -2 -1 0 1 2 3 y 5 -4 -8 Fill in as many y-values as you can if you know that f is a) An even function. b) An odd function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The definition of an even function is that f(-x) = f(x). So, for example, if y(2) (i.e. f(2)) is equal to -8, then y(-2) must be equal to -8. By contrast, an odd function is a function such that f(-x) = -f(x). So, if y(2) is equal to -8, then y(-2) must be equal to 8.

Same as for when f(-3)=5 then f(3)=-5 ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep (if the function is odd).
