Water is leaking onto the floor creating a circular pool with an area that increases at a rate of 3cm^2 per minute. How fast is the radius of the pool increasing when the width of the puddle is 20cm? And they wonder why nothing ever gets done around the house :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

lol.... someones been spying on me ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

spying ....na...na ......its the question arose on my mind.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i wonder if a could so for copyright infringement .... lol

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sue even ..... my next chore is to rearrange my synapsis so that they are closer together

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need an answer.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

of course you do; but the thing is this... i already figured it out a loooong time ago. then cleaned up the puddle ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need an answer...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

do tell, why would you "need" an answer to a statement I posted on my facebook account? That seems more of a want then a need.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk what u r talking abt but i need an asnwer,...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need it cuz its question arising on my mind frequently.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

lol.... mine too :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey man i need an answer....do u have or not?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

of course i do, i have the answers to all my questions .... dont you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wtf u r talking .........i only need an answer..i dont need anything other than that

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the answer is ..... dont stalk me. plain and simple.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you wont like the other answers I have ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if u dont have an answer than why did u disturb me ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

why are you disturbed? you feeling guilty of something? you thinking maybe your being mischevious? do tell...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sathiprakash, rather than saying I need an answer, tell us what you have come up with so far...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its the question arose on my mind while am studying MAT i mean mental agillity test during my preparation on medical exam.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, it is a very simple calculus problem, but it's been so long since i've done it someone can check on me. \[a =pir ^{2}\]\[dA =2pir(dr/dt)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dint get it.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sath came up with so far ; is copied a statement from my facebook page and claims it as his own .... the first part is from a library textbook that I found intriguing, the last bit was my thoughts about why someone would not just clean it up to begin with ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You two are funny. How did Sath come across your facebook page?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

he looked up Ynohtna Attertsim :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wtf......no/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What a name. I would never get to your page. I would make too many typos.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

lol .... yeah, my kids wanted me to have a facebook, so I did it in gest..

OpenStudy (amistre64):

its just me name backwards

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Clever. Sathi fervently denies the charge.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

Sathi walks a thin line lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a big lol here..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anyway sorry amistre..i like that question and wan answer,,,so i did this stuff here.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

me proof is this:

OpenStudy (amistre64):

'sok :) I liked that question too :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anyway its lot of funn here ... and thanks too..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There seems to be an admission, the mystery remains how Sathi would come across your page. Anyway above, Sathi plug in values for r=10 and dr/dt = 3. That gives you the area. Now you want to know when pool is 20 which is really when radius is 10. I don't know Amistre tell us how to do your problem.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

Well, you derive the Area of a circle with respect to time; then solve for dr/dt knowing that dA/dt = 3

OpenStudy (amistre64):

A = pi r^2 A' = 2pi r r' r' = A'/(2pi r) r' = 3/(2pi 10) if I recall it from so long ago lol

OpenStudy (amistre64):

r' = 0.0477.... cm/sec maybe?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

per min..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let me go to your page. There has been so much debate. First it was argued Amistre is a woman. Then some kid said yesterday, Amistre is my Dad. May be I can solve that mystery on Facebook.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

lol ..... facebook can solve all mysteries ;)
