what is it called when the nuclus starts to fall apart?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is this is the replication of a cell? This would be prophase in mitosis or propahse I in meiosis.

@biology111 it may be clevage or furrowing in amitosis.. or anything else .. will you please clarify...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is in prometaphase if its mitosis. Clevage furrow refers to the division of the cytoplasm in animal cells. I think the answer for your question is indeed prometaphase (in some texts it is just simply under prophase)
