logx+log(x+3)=5 x=?

OpenStudy (watchmath):

Use the log property to combine the two logs into a single log \(log(x(x+3))=5\) Now use the property to change log equation into exponential one \(x(x+3)=10^5\) \(x^2+3x=10^5\) \(x^2+3x-10^5=0\) Then use quadratic formula to solve it for x.
