i am not alive

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

synthetic division

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how plz show me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ever done synthetic before or even long division polynomials?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but what do i divide by?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You first try 1. If it comes out with no remainder it is a root. If it doesn't try -1. That is how you start all these problem. It is trial and error, but they make em simple so you can do it.

but in my book the answer says 3+i/2 and -4, how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is because someone has tried 1 and -1 and found that there is a remainder. Then on to -4. Try -4, you know it is a root but the synthetic division would give you the rest of the polynomial.
